Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary scientists and partners will be heading out on a nine-day research expedition to the Davidson Seamount and special research areas within Monterey Bay. The 208 foot long NOAA FSV Bell M. Shimada will serve as the platform. Research will include marine mammal and seabird observations, marine mammal acoustics, deep oceanographic measurements, environmental DNA and trawling for fishes.
